Tonight was the premiere of "Castle", a new show on ABC. Basic plot premise: A famous mystery writer follows around a detective. I'll admit, most of the reason I tuned in was because the main character is played by Nathan Fillion (Mal/Captain Hammer).
The show is definitely cool. All the characters are fun and quirky - the writer, Castle, is a immature ladies man who's bosom buddies with everyone in town, the mayor included. His mother is a manizer with "graydar" who tends to spill his secrets. Hell, he even has poker night with his fellow writers, a bunch of old, rich mystery authors who pick apart the first episode's murder case in seconds.
For the beginning half of the episode, things were dampened by the humorless detective chick. I spent much of the first thirty minutes railing at her for being an idiot and flat besides. But then, pretty much the moment I described these frustrations to Kuri (who was also watching the show), she turned straight around and became awesome, her intelligence even sprouting into existence.
So yeah. Looks like I have a Monday show again. Woot! Now to infect the others...
