Dr. Horrible Part 3

Dr. Horrible just ended. And... yeah. I might revise my plans to get the DVD. That ending kind of... no.
I didn't like the ending. Partly because of the absolute depression of it, but also just... too abrupt, as one person said. It felt like it just kind of cut off.
And also, why didn't he use the freeze ray to save Penny? I mean, maybe it wouldn't have worked, but he could have tried. He could have frozen her in time so the paramedics could come quicker or something. I hate it when a character doesn't do obvious things so that a death scene can be standardly dramatic.
I was half-expecting him to, after becoming the king of all evilness, go and make a time reversal ray and undo killing Penny, which would also undo becoming a famous League of Eviler.
I will say one thing positive, though. The last song of the show was beautiful. And made it far more hopelessly depressing than it otherwise would have been. If it weren't for the song to save it at the end, that death scene would have Reined in Cheese for all eternity.
If I keep editing this post someone's going to get annoyed with me...
Okay. So I'll admit. The ending accomplished what may well have been the goal. If Dr. Horrible had just been zany fun crack with no real emotional significance or a happy!joy ending, it probably wouldn't have gotten its goal of being a momentous changer of the way things work or whatever. I don't know.
And it also accomplished its goal because, if it had just been zany with a funny ending, I probably wouldn't be as desperately slavering for a sequel that will further the emotional development of the characters and not leave me dangling on this technically-a-proper-ending-but-feels-like-a-cliffhanger.
