An update in Christie's fencing of stolen goods. Basically, the auction winner turned out to be a Chinese guy, and he's refusing to pay for the goods.

My thoughts? Good for him. I don't know why the hell Christie's thinks they have the right to sell these bronzes when it doesn't belong to them and it doesn't belong to the person who died and gave it to them (that's right, it's not like they bought it, it was given to them by a dead guy). It belongs to China and should be returned to China.

I know a lot of people have problems with the Chinese government, for damn good reason. They lock up journalists, close down human rights law firms, keep important, life-threatening information from their public, and etc. And I know, as a "still-developing" nation, they're considered "lesser". But for fuck's sake, the bronzes are theirs. Not France's, not Christie's, theirs.

But then again, it's not the first time Christie's has tried to sell stolen shit, so why should I be surprised?
